Thug Lovin' Page 16
“Yes, Mrs. Henderson, it’s me.”
He hurried up and opened the front door to let Kyra in. “That woman will talk you damn near to death.” He breathed a sigh of relief.
Kyra’s eyes looked around the living room. Yes, this was definitely the home of a senior citizen. Knickknacks such as saltshakers, banners from Rick’s football games, baseball game paraphenalia and his drawings were everywhere. When she moved to go look at the pictures on the wall he pulled her toward the kitchen.
“Awwwww, you were so cute.”
“Don’t worry about that. Let me show you around.” He showed her the entire house, holding on to her hand the entire time. He saved the guest room for last. When he took her in there, he pulled the door closed behind them. “This used to be my room. I used to sneak a lot of girls up here.”
Kyra smiled. “Is this what you’re calling yourself doing? Sneaking me in your room?”
“Yeah.” He looked at his watch. “My moms will be home in an hour. Can I have a kiss?” The attraction had been there since the first day they met. And with all the bullshit Marvin had been on lately Kyra needed a good fuck. Hell, she wanted one. Matter of fact, she thought she deserved one. He picked her up, stood her on the footstool and kissed her before she could answer.
“What do you think you are going to do with me in an hour?” Kyra kissed him back.
“Whatever you allow me to. We have forty-five minutes to be exact,” he said as he began unbuttoning her shirt and kissing her neck.
“Put me down.” When he lifted her off the footstool, she stepped back and began to undress herself, letting him know that she was all for this. He began doing the same thing, but not before placing the two burners he had on the dresser. She glanced at the guns and realized that his bad boy demeanor turned her on. “You are tall, dangerously and forbiddenly sexy.”
He licked his lips as his eyes admired her dark, huge nipples that were now poking out. He smiled. “And you are very short, extremely and make-a-nigga-wanna-kill-somebody sexy. Wait until I stick this dick inside of you.”
“I’m looking forward to it,” she whispered.
“Is there anything else you like about me?”
“I like your body and all of those muscles. I want to grab on to your dreads. But more than anything I want to find out if underneath all of that tough-cop shit if you are nothing but a sweetheart.” She now stood there naked.
“A sweetheart?”
“Yeah, a sweetheart.”
“I’ll be a sweetheart only to you.” He was now standing there butt naked and placing a condom on his hard dick. He then pulled the covers back off the bed and Kyra came over and lay down. He immediately got on top of her and began sucking her sweet dark nipples.
“We don’t have much time, Rick,” Kyra told him.
He spread her legs, put one of them in the crook of his arm and entered her. Kyra moaned, sending shivers up and down his spine. Damn. He really wanted to take his time and enjoy this, he thought to himself as he went in deeper. She was so hot, tight and wet. His knees buckled as he got his grind on nice and slow. It was obvious to him that Kyra had found her spot, because her eyes were shut tight and she was trying to get all the dick she could. Unlike his wife, Kyra was enjoying herself. After a few minutes, to his surprise, she was coming. She waited until her breathing slowed down before she opened her eyes and smiled at him.
“That was a nice appetizer.”
“Turn over,” he ordered. She did, raising that ass and pussy up in the air as if it was a challenge. He grabbed on to her hips and slid his dick in as deep as it would go, trying to knock the bottom out. She grabbed a pillow and bit down into it. “You want to get fucked like this?” Rick whispered in her ear.
“Ohhhhh, yess. Just like this,” Kyra cooed back. “Harder, baby. Hurry and make me come again.”
“I’ma make you mine, Kyra,” was the last thing he said before he nutted inside of her and she came again as well.
“Damn I needed that,” Kyra said as she closed her eyes and went to sleep.
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Kyra took her time driving to the club. It was later than she had thought. After getting busy with Rick she had dozed off and it felt as if she had been asleep for hours when it was only minutes. They exchanged cell numbers and joked about leaving a public gas station and going straight to the bedroom. She left right as his mother was pulling up. Rick actually had her shook. She thought about how earlier today she had been steaming mad at Marvin, but now she felt sorry for him. She used her code to get into the club entrance marked PERSONNEL. She knew Marvin was watching her every move on the security monitors. The staff was busy getting ready for the night. They were sweeping, mopping, buffing and restocking. But what caught her attention was the young lady painting a mural of people dancing. The painting sucked you in. Kyra stopped and watched the girl whiz with the brush in her hand.
The girl reminded her of Tasha as she rattled away on her Bluetooth not missing a stroke. The girl definitely had skill and Kyra was mesmerized by how fast she worked. Kyra walked over to where she was and stood next to her. The girl smiled and kept talking.
When she ended her call Kyra asked, “Where are you from?” Kyra had noticed that she had an accent.
Sabeerah held out her hand with the paintbrush for Kyra to shake. Realizing what she was doing she giggled. “Oops, sorry about that. My name is Sabeerah. My parents are from Haiti, and I’ve been over here since I was six. I just came from New Jersey. I got accepted at UCLA.”
“Really. That’s great. What part of New Jersey?”
“Newark.”
“Newark! Get out of here. That’s our old stomping grounds! Small world.”
“Aiight, let us allow you to get back to what you do.” Marvin walked up on them and interrupted as he led Kyra away.
“Nice meeting you, Sabeerah,” Kyra told her.
“Same here.” Sabeerah turned around and went back to painting.
“Where did y’all find her?” Kyra asked Marvin.
“Trae found her the day we took you out to the college. She was out there selling her art. She kept calling the club until Stephon finally got tired of her and he gave her some work.”
“Ummph.” Kyra smirked, full of skepticism.
Marvin wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her on the neck. “You know you feelin’ her work. She is known as Sabeerah, the artist. She’s the one who did that big picture of Tasha. But before I forget, I gave Trae the keys to the condo.”
“The condo? Trae has a house. What does he need with the condo?”
“He’s family. Where else is he supposed to go? I ain’t sending the nigga to no hotel. I’m tired of seeing him sleeping here at the club. Tasha kicked him out, remember?” Marvin said as he held the door to his office open for her.
“Then he’s supposed to be sleeping at the club. Y’all niggas got out here and done lost y’all fuckin’ minds,” Kyra snapped.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Marvin barked.
Kyra went into her purse and pulled out the dope. She held it out for Marvin to see.
“Where did you get that from?” He tried to snatch it out of her hands but she moved away just in time.
“You know exactly where I got it from.”
“No. I don’t.”
“Oh my God. Marvin, baby. This is me you’re talking to. I’m not against you, baby. I’m not your enemy. And you know I’m not stupid. Baby, I know you are using. At first I didn’t want to believe it but I know you are.”
“Kyra, c’mon now.”
“C’mon nothing, Marvin. And you’re slipping up leaving the shit around. What if Aisha would have found the shit, Marvin? Huh? Answer me, nigga.”
“Kyra I am not using. I may dabble in a little E every now and then but that’s it.”
Kyra sighed as she slumped down into the chair in front of his desk. “I never would have dreamed that in this point of our lives we would be having this conv
ersation.” She looked across the desk at Marvin, who was now sitting down. They had been through thick and thin together. After they had gotten their lives together and had stopped using, he had been her strength.
“Marvin, you need to choose.”
“Choose?”
“You know what the fuck I’m talking about.” Kyra went into her purse, snatched out one of the packages of dope, and tossed it at him. “Me and Aisha or that shit. You can’t have both.” She stood up and went for the door.
“Wait, Kyra.”
“Me and Aisha or the dope, Marvin. If you’re not ready to admit that you slipped, then I don’t want to hear shit you got to say.”
“Where do you think you’re going, Kyra?”
“I’m going to pick up our daughter and then I’m going home.” She stormed out and left him sitting there.
Kyra had ended up at Tasha’s house. She was planted on the love seat in her bedroom trying to act as if everything in her world were lovely. But Tasha knew better.
“Kyra, you look awful. You might as well get it off your chest because you know I know you,” Tasha said to her best friend as she stood in front of her with her arms folded.
“Tasha, I am so scared.” Kyra revealed. Tasha grabbed some tissue off of the end table next to the love seat. She then grabbed the remote and turned down the Jennifer Hudson CD.
“Get if off your chest, Kyra,” Tasha told her, waiting patiently as Kyra wiped the tears that were streaming down her cheeks. “To have to live without Marvin in my life, I am scared shitless. We’ve been together over ten years. We’ve made it a habit to depend on each other and to have each other’s back. But now, I don’t give a fuck. I’m ready to up and leave him, Tasha. I refuse to let him take me down that road again.”
“I honestly don’t know, Kyra. Try something first. Shit, both of y’all are family. Maybe put his ass in rehab and see how that goes.”
“How am I supposed to do that? He won’t even admit that he’s using, Tasha. I threw the dope right in his face and he still wouldn’t admit it.” Just then Tasha’s house phone rang.
“Get that. It’s probably Trae. I don’t want to talk to him right now,” Tasha told her.
“Hello.”
“Hi, is Trae home?”
“Who’s calling?” Kyra asked with her face all twisted up.
“Who is it?” Tasha snapped.
Kyra put her hand up, motioning for Tasha to be quiet. “Who is this?” Kyra prodded.
“Sabeerah. I’m looking for Trae, is he available?”
“No, he isn’t. What can I—”
“Thank you.” Sabeerah hung up.
As soon as Kyra placed the phone on the receiver it rang again. Kyra snatched it up on the first ring.
This time she looked at the caller ID and it was Rick.
“Hello, Mrs. Tasha, is your husband available?”
“This is Ms. Kyra. Who is this?” Kyra stood up and walked out of Tasha’s bedroom.
“Kyra? Damn, this is my lucky day. You all right? Can you talk?” Rick asked.
“For a minute. What’s up?”
“I wanted to thank you for this afternoon. I regret that everything happened kind of quick, but I still wanted to thank you. I’m still sailing off that shit.”
“You’re welcome.” Her frown was now turned into a smile.
“But check it, I’ma take you from him, watch.”
“I don’t think you can do that.”
“Why not?”
Kyra sighed before answering. “Rick, I just got done fucking you and now I’m over here crying about Marvin and our shaky-ass marriage. I don’t know. Do you remember that O’Jays song ‘You Got Your Hooks In Me’?”
Rick smiled. “Yeah, I remember it.”
“Well, he got his hooks in me. I’m having a hard time walking away from him. Even worse, I feel like I can’t and that’s scaring the shit out of me.”
“Don’t sweat it. I got that,” he assured her.
Kyra laughed. “Oh, it’s like that?”
“Kyra, you keep forgetting that I’m the king. But listen, I’m in the middle of something and I need to speak to Trae. Is he in?”
“No he’s not.”
“I gotta run. Can I call you later? Better yet, can I see you later?”
“You can call me. I’ll have to see about the other thing.”
They both hung up.
“Who was that?” Tasha was standing right behind her.
“Tasha, not now, okay.” Kyra went and sat back down on the love seat. Her eyes went to the lifelike picture above Tasha’s bed.
“That’s fucked up. Something is up with you and you won’t even tell me,” was all Tasha kept saying. “I know it was some nigga.” Tasha snatched up the phone and checked the caller ID, fumbling through the numbers. “Who called my phone, Kyra?”
“Do you know the girl that did that is working at the club?” she asked, wanting to change the subject.
“That did what?”
“That picture over your bed.”
“What?”
“Yeah, I met her earlier. She’s a college student and, get this, she’s from Newark. She is the one who just called. We need to check that whole situation out because the shit is suspect to me.”
“What? She called here? What did she want, Kyra? Why didn’t you let me talk to her? Don’t answer my damn phone anymore. I can’t believe you didn’t let me talk to her,” Tasha spat. “What are you thinking?”
“Chill, Tasha. It could be nothing other than her checking in. Because she is working at the club. But then again there’s no such thing as a coincidence.”
“What does she look like?”
“She reminds me of you.” Tasha shook her head in disbelief. “And,” Kyra continued, “did you know Trae is living in that last condo we bought?”
“He’s living in it?”
“Yeah, Marvin’s ass said he got tired of seeing him sleeping at the club so he gave him the keys. His ass probably didn’t want Trae to see him getting high.” Kyra looked at her watch. “I gotta get out of here. I got some homework I haven’t even looked at.” She stood up. “Thanks for letting Aisha stay over all of the time. You don’t know how much I appreciate it.”
“Her little grown behind might as well move in. She tried to talk me into letting her spend another night.” Tasha ratted her out.
“Oh yeah? She didn’t even ask me. She can forget about it.” Kyra forced out a smiled. “Oh, and guess what else?”
“What?”
“I was at the gas station and Rick was there. He said he’ll take me away from Marvin before he allows him to take me down,” Kyra said, purposely leaving out the part about her sleeping with him.
“What? How did the conversation move to Marvin?” Tasha wanted to know.
“He saw the dope in my purse and knew it wasn’t mine.”
“How did he see the dope, Kyra? Why are you carrying that shit around? That’s stupid, Kyra.” Tasha was clearly agitated with Kyra.
“I needed it to confront Marvin.” Kyra felt like a child being chastised.
Tasha sucked her teeth in disgust. “Go dump that shit in the toilet right now.” Tasha stood there with her arms folded across her chest while Kyra immediatley got up and did as she was told. When Kyra came back into the bedroom, Tasha said, “Now regarding Rick, don’t get any ideas, the nigga is married. Now the same way you said you feel weird about the chick that drew this painting, I feel the same way about Rick. So we both need to be on point and on guard. Do we have a deal?” Kyra didn’t respond. “Kyra, do we have a deal or what? Don’t fuck with him. I saw his number on my caller ID.”
“I heard you, damn,” Kyra mumbled.
“Now why was that chick at the club?” Tasha had to backtrack.
“She’s painting a mural.”
Just then Trae eased the bedroom door open to both Tasha’s and Kyra’s surprise.
“What are you doing here?” Tasha snapped.
r /> “I live here, remember? What the fuck you think?”
“What’s up, Trae? Tasha, I’ma grab your little babysitter, Aisha, and be on my way.” Kyra could sense that things were about to get ugly, got Aisha and left.
“This is my house, you are my wife and we do have a family.”
“You obviously never told that to the Asian bitch you creepin’ with.” Before Tasha could turn around good he had snatched her up around the neck.
“Daddy, Daddy.” He was interrupted by their three sons, who were running through the bedroom. He let Tasha go and ran both hands over his face.
“Get your shit and leave.” Tasha was relieved that she had probably just escaped an ass-whupping.
“How long do you think I’ma put up with this shit?” Trae gritted.
“How long do you think I’ma put up with your bitches coming by and calling my house? Who is Sabeerah, Trae?”
“Sabeerah?”
“Yes, Sabeerah.”
“She’s the girl I hired to do the painting.”
“Nigga, the ice you are skating on is getting thinner and thinner,” Tasha said before she stormed out of the bedroom.
Marvin looked at his watch. It was almost noon. He hadn’t been home all night. It was a homey’s birthday party and he had been invited. After it was over they had just hung out. He took another hit of his demon and swore it would be the last time. “Fuck cocaine,’’ he mused. “Heroin is a helluva drug.”
Lo nudged him, interrupting his nod. “Man, cut that phone off or answer it. You got the shit turned up too damn loud.”
Marvin felt around, finally finding his phone. “Yeah,” he answered.
It was Kyra. “Daddy, when are you coming home? I have a surprise for you.” She sounded very jubilant.
Marvin thought that he was hearing things. “Baby girl, Daddy loves you no matter what.”
“I love you more. Come on home to your baby girl,” she cooed. “How soon can you get here?”
Marvin stood up. “I’m leaving right now.”
“Promise?”
“Right now.” He ended the call.
“Gotta get that ass home, huh?” Lo was preparing to take a hit.
Marvin looked around at his shoddy surroundings and shook his head in disbelief, trying to figure out what had caused him to backslide. “Yeah, it’s time for me to head on out.”
